What you'll do

Work closely with the center’s Director of HR to facilitate the center’s new hire orientation process. 

Develop, coordinate, and lead training and in-service education programs for staff. 

Promote culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Maintain accurate records of all training activities and certifications. 

Conduct competency assessments and provide remedial training as needed. 

Perform other duties as required to provide exceptional care to each resident. 

What you need

Active, unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice. 

Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in nursing practice and patient care.

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and lead a diverse team of healthcare professionals.

Occupational Therapist

Guilford Health Care Center is looking for a caring and dedicated Occupational Therapist who is licensed in North Carolina and is searching for an opportunity to do meaningful work. The Occupational Therapist evaluates residents, develops effective treatment plans, and obtains approval for service from the referring physician. Treats residents to the physician’s treatment plan. Participates in discharge planning, records evaluation, treatment, and charges. Screens residents for potential benefit from OT intervention.

Job Specific Duties:

• Screens, evaluates and develops programs for implementation for all patients as needed.
• Supervises Occupational Therapist Assistants and aides according to state guidelines.
• Develops effective occupational therapy treatment plans and goals to meet each patient’s needs.
• Collaborates/communicates effectively with other center team members to ensure optimal patient care and progress.
• Prioritizes responsibilities to ensure efficient clinical operations.
• Demonstrates ability and willingness to attain productivity benchmark.
• Completes documentation/billing timely, and accurately. Ensures MD orders are obtained according to company policy and procedure.

Skills and Abilities:

•Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills.

Requirements:

Occupational Therapists will hold licensure as outlined by the state Board of Occupational Therapy in the state of employment.

What you'll do:

• Provide individualized nursing care to residents according to each resident’s plan of care.  

• Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.  

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments as ordered by the physician. 

• Explains procedures and treatments ordered to gain patients’ cooperation and allay apprehension. 

• Observe vital signs to detect deviations from normal and gage progress of the patient. 

• Maintains patients’ medical record on nursing observation and action taken, such as medications 

and treatments given, reactions, tests, intake, emission of liquids and solids, and vital signs. 

• Records nursing needs of patient on care plan to assure continuity of care.

continuing care after discharge.
